Why two-factor authentication (2FA) matters
On June 15th, 2023, Kikoff turned on two-factor authentication (2FA) for all accounts. 2FA is an extra layer of security that is designed to make sure that you're the only one who can access your account—even if someone else knows your password. You have the option to receive your six-digit verification code as a text message or email to a confirmed email address (keep reading if you’ve changed your phone number and have an unconfirmed email address).
2FA is the industry standard in security, and you’re probably already familiar with it on some of your other accounts. Here’s more information on how to log in and troubleshoot 2FA with Kikoff.
How to log in with 2FA
Simply log in as you normally would and Kikoff will automatically ask you for a verification code:
1. Log in with your email & password
2. Kikoff will automatically send you a text message with a six-digit verification code
*Did you change your phone number or lose access to it? No problem, you’ll see an option to “send an email instead”
3. Enter the six-digit code and you’re all set!
Troubleshooting 2FA log in
Here are some common things to troubleshoot if you're having trouble:
- Didn’t get an email? In some cases your email will need to be verified. If this is the case, Kikoff will send you an email for 1-click email verification (please check your email for an email from Kikoff with the following subject line: "Just one click to confirm your Kikoff email!")
- Error message on the app? Please make sure you are using the latest version of our app. Visit the App Store or Google Play store to make sure you’re on the latest version.
- Too Many Failed Attempts? For your security, we temporarily freeze log in efforts after too many failed attempts. Please double check your password and try again in an hour.
- Still need help? Please submit a ticket with a screenshot of your error message and the Kikoff team will connect with you soon.
